GRANTHAM, Pa. – The Widener University team got a strong pitching performance from Kait Jaworski and late offense to down the Lebanon Valley Dutchmen 8-0 in five innings and advance in the MAC Commonwealth Championship on Saturday afternoon.
 
BY THE NUMBERS

• Jaworski got her 16th win of the season with her 15th complete game.
• Hope DiMario and Bri Milz drove in two runs each.
• Jamie Gosselin led Widener with two hits on the day.

 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• Scoreless into the fourth, the Pride broke the game open as with Carli Benozich and Gosselin on, Ariel Silva singled to plate Gosselin for the opening run of the game. With Shannon Gullickson running for Silva, the pinch-runner broke for second. The throw from the catcher sailed into centerfield allowing Benozich to score.
• The Pride tacked on three more runs in the inning, the big shot a two-run double by Milz to make it 5-0.
• WU ended the game in the fifth with three runs, including run scoring hits from Marissa Camac and DiMario.

Widener now takes on Albright for a chance to take on Arcadia in the finals on Sunday.
