GRANTHAM, Pa. – Behind some early offense, the Widener University softball team advanced to the finals of the MAC Commonwealth Championship with a 4-3 win against Albright on Saturday afternoon. It is the fourth time in the last five years the Pride is in the finals, winning the tournament in 2017.

- Kait Jaworski pitched her second complete game of the day, locking down her 17th victory of the season.
- Ariel Silva drove in a pair for the Blue and Gold.
- Jamie Gosselin posted a pair of hits.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Widener got all the runs it needed in the first inning as Ally McDowell and Gosselin singled in front of Carli Benozich who walked to load the bases. Silva came up and drove a double to left, plating McDowell and Gosselin.
- Two batters later, Hope DiMario sacrificed and brought home a pair of runs, upping the lead to 4-0.
- Albright got one back in the first and two in the third, but Jaworski did not allow a run in the final four innings to help the Pride advance.
