CHESTER, Pa. – 
Connor Heisman and 
Brady Franks combined for 11 goals, lifting the Widener University men's lacrosse team to a MAC Commonwealth Championships first round victory over the Arcadia University Knights on Monday night. The Pride will play in the conference semi-finals for the third straight year.
Highlights
	- Franks' goals came on six shots. The senior attackman scooped two groundballs and caused one turnover.
- Six goals is a new career-high for the freshman, Heisman.
- John Dunbar went for five points, recording three goals and two assists.
- Gavin Kirkwood had two goals and an assist.
- Bryan Facciani caused four turnovers and nabbed three groundballs.
- Matt Horton made 12 saves in the win.
How it happened
	- Arcadia reached the scoreboard first, scoring on a man-down goal near the 13-minute mark.
- Dunbar evened the score at one a little over three minutes later.
- Heisman gave the Pride its first lead of the night with 4:52 remaining in the first quarter.
- Dunbar scored his second of the night on a man-up advantage and the Pride entered the second quarter up 3-2, holding the edge for the remainder of the contest.
- Franks got his first goal in the second, making it 4-2 Widener.
- The Knights cut it to one, but WU eventually stretched the margin to three before the intermission.
- Arcadia opened the third quarter with a 3-1 run, bringing the game to within one at 8-7, but three straight from the Pride kept the Knights at bay heading into the final quarter.
- The Blue and Gold outscored Arcadia 5-3 in the final quarter to secure the win.
- Nick DiIorio made it 16-10 with 2:30 left to play, icing it for Widener.
