Cross Country Opens Its Season at the Lehigh Invitational

Widener had several strong outings as it opened its campaign at the Lehigh Invitational in Bethlehem, PA.
 
Junior Dennis Conn (Morton, PA), a second team All-Middle Atlantic Conference performer last year, closed ninth in 19:20.3 and second among Division III competitors. Junior Michael Garrity (Briarcliffe, PA), also a second-team honoree, was 29th in 19:51.9.
 
Sophomore Ryan Gallagher (Langhorne, PA) ended 33rd in 19:55.7 and freshman Michael Quinn (Conshohocken, PA) closed 57th in 20:38.9.
 
For the women, freshman Kellie Medendorp (Prospect Park, PA) ran in 27:22.8, Ashley Callahan (Clementon, NJ) ended in 27:26.8 and fellow sophomore Emily Conover (Egg Harbor Township, NJ) closed in 29:25.2.

Widener next Saturday faces a tough task at the Harry Grooves Spiked Shoe Invitational in University Park, PA.
