Widener senior Steph Connolly (Aston, PA) today picked up some more hardware by being selected first team ECAC All-South Region for Softball.
Connolly, also tabbed first team All-Commonwealth Conference, was one of five for Widener to start all 42 games. She finished second in the league with a .448 batting average, third with a .504 on-base percentage, second with a .768 slugging percentage, second with 56 hits, first with 43 RBI, second with 13 doubles and first with nine home runs that all were career highs.
She also set the single-season school record in hits, tied the record for the second straight year with 42 games started and posted the second highest single-season marks in school history in RBI and home runs.
Connolly was tabbed first team in 2008 before being named second team in 2009. She also was named to the Middle Atlantic Conference Academic Honor Roll for the second consecutive year.
Widener (27-15, 8-6 CC) recorded its ninth 20-win season and the second-highest win total in school history. The Pride also made the conference tournament for the third consecutive year.
