Widener opened its season with a pair of losses, 6-4 and 3-1, to RIT in Kissimmee, FL.

Senior Steph Connolly (Aston, PA) in the first game collected two hits with a double and an RBI.  Junior Meg Phillips (Aston, PA) also rapped two hits for Widener (0-2), which held a 2-0 lead.

The Pride gave up three runs in the first inning of game two.  Connolly, Phillips, junior Kelsey Shultz (Parker Ford, PA) and freshman Shelby Mackintosh (Lumberton, NJ) all had a hit.

Widener on Tuesday plays Alverno at 1:00 pm and Beloit at 3:00 pm.
