Senior Bobby Edmunds (Linwood, NJ) scored all 12 of his points in the second half for Widener, which posted a 69-57 Commonwealth Conference win over Messiah at Schwartz Center.

Widener (10-9, 3-5 CC) raced to a 32-19 halftime lead by shooting 48 percent (14-of-29) from the floor and holding Messiah to just 36 percent (8-of-22).  Sophomore Perry Wright (Severn, MD) scored nine points in that span.

The Falcons (11-7, 4-4) climbed back with nine straight points to move to 51-48 with 7:41 remaining.  Tyler Ritzman scored five points in the run.

However, the Pride answered with a 9-2 spurt for a 60-50 lead with 3:50 left and the margin did not shrink below eight thereafter.  Edmunds helped things with a crucial three-point play.

Sophomore BJ Smith (Baltimore, MD) scored 12 points with Wright and junior Jarrell Nelson (Waldorf, MD) adding 11 apiece.  Junior Chris McDevitt (Doylestown, PA) poured in nine points for Widener, which shot 57 percent (12-of-21) in the second half and 52 percent (26-of-50) overall.

Derek Mosley scored 14 points and Kyle Snyder added 10 for the Falcons.

Widener on Wednesday visits Albright for an 8:00 pm start.
