It is O'Leary's second straight honor for second team after she was picked first team all-league in 2007. The designated player this season closed first on the team with a .357 batting average and 46 hits. She also was fifth with seven doubles and fourth with 16 RBI.
O'Leary also was tied for first on the team with 14 multi-hit games, had a nine-game hitting streak late in the year and ended her career with a six-game hitting streak.
Mitchell got the nod at catcher after closing fourth in the league with six runners caught stealing. She also was fifth on the team with a .303 batting average and second among regulars with a .987 fielding percentage to go with 13 RBI.
She also is a three-time member of the Middle Atlantic Conference Academic Honor Roll.
Connolly followed her first team all-league selection from last year with another solid campaign. She led the conference with eight home runs and 100 assists, starting all 42 games at shortstop. Connolly also was third on the team with a .336 batting average, first with 11 doubles, third with 44 hits and first with a .603 slugging percentage.
A member this year of the MAC Academic Honor Roll, Connolly had a career-best nine-game hitting streak late in the season.
Widener (24-18, 6-6 CC) notched its eighth 20-win season in school history and clinched the third seed in the conference tournament. The Pride advanced to the championship round before falling to Messiah.
