Men's Track & Field Second After Day Two at MAC Championships; Women Stand Fourth

Widener has produced five individual champions after day two of the three-day Middle Atlantic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Elizabethtown, PA.
 
Freshman Tim Malloy (Langhorne, PA), the men’s MAC Indoor Rookie of the Meet, won the high jump at 1.98 meters and the triple jump by clearing 13.84 meters. Junior James Green (Lansdale, PA), last spring’s Field Athlete of the Meet, repeated as shot put champion by tossing 15.50 meters to break the track record and provisionally qualify for the NCAA Championships.
 
This has the men second overall with 55 points. DeSales leads with 59 1/2 points.
 
Junior Nikita Halteman (Hatfield, PA) duplicated her shot put triumph from the indoor championships by winning with a toss of 11.87 meters. Freshman Brooke McDonald (Drexel Hill, PA) won the pole vault with a leap of 3.20 meters.
 
The women are fourth with 34 points.
 
The championships conclude Saturday.

Abby Schaffer
Women's Indoor Track
Sophomore Abby Schaffer automatically qualified for the NCAA Championships, winning the pole vault at 3.85 meters at the ECAC Championships.  Her mark also broke the meet and facility record.

Senior Cory Malampy ended with three goals, two assists and three ground balls in men's lacrosse's 12-6 victory Saturday over Swarthmore.
