Jackie Elliott and Dan Sieracki Named Conference Players of the Week
Email to a Friend | Print
Junior Jackie Elliott (Upper Darby, PA) was tabbed Middle Atlantic Conference Women’s Lacrosse Player of the Week and freshman Dan Sieracki (Cherry Hill, NJ) was picked Commonwealth Conference Baseball Player of the Week.

Elliott again put up impressive numbers, ending with 18 goals, three assists, 12 draw controls and eight ground balls over three games. She had eight goals and five draw controls Tuesday at Arcadia, three goals Wednesday at Eastern and seven goals Saturday at Wilkes.

A second team All-MAC pick last season, Elliott ended this year with 71 goals to break the school's single-season record. The previous mark of 64 was set by Courtney Patton in 1991. Elliott’s 125 career goals are sixth in Widener annals and her 157 points put her seventh.

The Pride (8-9, 4-7 MAC) closed the season with victories in four of their last six games.

Sieracki almost single-handedly made sure Widener got the No. 3 seed for the Commonwealth Conference Tournament. His two-strike, two-out, two-run single tied Friday's game with Messiah in the bottom of the 10th inning and led to his team’s 11-10, 12-inning triumph. That win clinched the Pride’s fifth straight trip to the conference tournament.

He helped locked down the seed Saturday at Messiah, going 3-for-3 with two doubles, a grand slam and four RBI in a 7-4 win. Over three games, he batted .700 (7-for-10) with three doubles and six RBI.

Widener on Thursday opens tournament play against second-seeded Lebanon Valley at 7:30 pm in West Lawn, PA.
