Widener junior running back Adam Smith (Littlestown, PA), coming off the best performance of his young career, today was named to the Middle Atlantic Conference Football Weekly Honor Roll.
Smith exploded for 201 yards on 33 carries in Widener's tough 29-24 loss Saturday at Wilkes. Smith rushed for 117 yards in the second half and became the first Widener player to reach 200 yards since Khalee Prothro had 210 against Susquehanna on October 14, 2006.
Smith is seventh in the conference with 49.3 rushing yards per game and eighth with 92.2 all purpose yards per contest. He is tied for first on the team with five touchdowns, including two apiece against Ithaca on September 19 and Frostburg State on September 26.
Widener on Saturday hosts Delaware Valley in the Keystone Cup Game, beginning at 1:00 pm.
