Widener's SAAC to Hold Canned Food Drive During Basketball Doubleheader Tuesday
Email to a Friend | Print
Widener’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will hold a canned food drive during its basketball doubleheader on Tuesday, January 20 against Arcadia.

Fans paying admission are asked to bring a non-perishable canned good to the game or make a donation, which will be given to the Chester location of City Team Ministries. The collection is part of the Middle Atlantic Conference’s initiative for SAAC to be involved in the community.

The women’s game begins at 6:00 pm, followed by the men’s contest at 8:00 pm.

City Team Ministries began in 1957 with the task of going into the inner cities and meet the needs of the poor and homeless in our society. The Chester branch opened in 1989, going from a one-day-a-week feeding program to one which provides over 63,000 meals a year.
